Primary Care Counsellors

Our Primary Care Counsellors are:

Luan Knott MNCS(Acc) Primary Care Counsellor

I cover Haldon House Surgery and Imperial Medical Practice, both in Exmouth one 1/2 day per week. 

Offering:  Integrative Counselling incorporating elements of CBT, Mindfulness. Interpersonal Psychotheray.  

Jo Flint Primary Care Counsellor at Devon Primary Care Counselling Service

Jo covers the following Practices 1 day a week;

  •  Seaton and Colyton Medical Practice
  • Townsend  Surgery Seaton
  • Axminster Medical Practice

Jo is a qualified Counsellor and Supervisor, registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.  She has worked in the field of mental health for the past 20 years; currently in a Primary Care Setting, and previously in Secondary Care in a Community Mental Health Team, working with adults of all ages.

Jo specialises in working with the following issues:

  •                Bereavement & loss
  •                Domestic violence/abuse
  •                Childhood Sexual Abuse & childhood-related trauma
  •                Interpersonal/relationship issues

Cathie Hendrick: Counsellor, and Psychotherapist. MA (Psych), PGDip Couns, UKCP, BACP

 Cathie covers the following surgeries for 1.5 days weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays:

 - Budleigh Salterton Surgery

- Claremont

- Raliegh Surgery

- Woodbury Surgery

- Rolle Medical Practice

 Cathie  is a qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and accredited with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP).

 Cathie's past experience has included collectively counselling,  providing supervision and psychotherapeutic work within  the NHS. Currently, she works as therapist within a range of NHS medical practices in East Devon.

 Her continuing professional development is a post graduate qualification with Exeter University that allows her to offer group training in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

 Cathie is qualified to work therapeutically using the following approaches:

- Mindfulness based Psychotherapy (Core Process)

- Trauma focused therapy

- Integrative

- Person Centred Therapy

- Psychodynamic

- Interpersonal Psychotherapy

 She is also qualified to offer;

- group trainings in MBCT, and MBSR
